Depression. Silent, Subtle and Hard to See. How can you tell when it’s happening to you?

Depression…is silent. It wears many faces. And sometimes, it hides so well, you don’t even realize it’s there. How can you tell when it’s happening to you? You might say, “It’s just a tough phase.” “It’ll pass.” But somehow… it doesn’t.

And day by day, something inside you starts to fade. Depression is not weakness. It’s an illness — and it deserves care, not shame. Some mornings, you wake up with no energy. You can’t get out of bed. You feel worthless, guilty, or unseen. And yet, on other days, you seem perfectly fine to everyone else. That’s what makes it so deceptive.

Depression doesn’t always scream. Sometimes, it whispers. It hides behind your work, your tiredness, your “I’m just busy. ”But the more you ignore it, the deeper it takes root. If you recognize yourself in these words…please, don’t brush it off. Ask for help.

There are people who care. And there are ways to heal. Therapy. Mindfulness. Connection. Small steps that can bring light back into your life. Depression is not the end. It’s a signal —that something in your life needs to change. That it’s time to take care of yourself again. To breathe. To begin anew.

You can do this. You can find your strength again. Just start… with one small step.
