After the Rain, Prologue

Prologue – The Water That Remembers

Sometimes you think the light will stay forever.
But every light carries its own rain —
not to wash it away,
but to remind it where it came from.

When I closed that first gratitude journal, I thought I had arrived.
That peace, love, and clarity had finally found their place within me.
But the soul isn’t a permanent home —
it’s a breathing house.
Every now and then, you need to open its windows again
and let the light enter in a new way.

This book is not a continuation.
It’s a homecoming.
A return to the silences I once ignored,
to the glances I was afraid to meet,
to the quiet truths that whispered:
gratitude isn’t something you do —
it’s the way you exist.

If my first journey taught me how to breathe,
this one teaches me how to stay.

To stay when everything feels calm.
To stay when there’s nothing left to prove.
To stay when the light no longer dazzles,
but simply glows —
steady and gentle,
like a candle that never goes out.
